10 Lesson for Pakistan Cricket Team can
be learned from World T20 Teams
Although World T20 is about to finish on Sunday and two of
the most under rated teams, West Indies and England are going to face on Sunday
to earn their 2nd T20 title. England was 2010 Champions and West Indies
earned it in 2012. The favorites of tournament, SA and Australia were unable to
make for semis and the two of most strong teams, India and New Zealand knocked
out in Semi Finals.
This tournament will be remembered for the best cricketing
display by Afghanistan, which is ICC associate team and it did upset by beating
West Indies in group matches and they were also about to shattered England in
group match, unfortunately they lost the match but they gave clear call as
future strong opponent to all cricketing nations.
Despite all efforts from the other team, Pakistan Cricket
team has a formidable tournament with full of controversies, either it was
about dispute among team members or poor game show or poor team management
problems. They won only one game which was against Bangladesh .After defeat
from India, it was being started believing in team that they are now unable to
qualify for semifinals and that thing created many problems in team too,
specially the controversy about some team members gone against Skipper Shahid
Afridi. Such controversies resulted in debacle performances against New Zealand
and Australia and caused in expulsion from the cup race.
Although this poor display of game and sportsman spirit can
be avoided in future specially for 2019 ODI world cup and 2020 T20 WC and this
can be done through the 10 lessons which they can learn from each team
including their own. Let’s see what the lesson they should learn from each team
is.
Afghanistan:
The team which has surprised all teams whichever played
against them. Their win against West Indies was the biggest upset of the
tournament. Their team showed valor from qualifying matches as well as group
matches, the courage and ability to give tough time to opponent.
The lesson from Afghanistan team, Pakistan can get is the
hunger to win and to give tough time to their oppositions. Each Match from
qualifying round to group matches, they played each match with guts. The match
against England was one the best
examples that they were about to create the history but due to some
inexperience they missed that chance but in very next match they bounce back
with bang and rest was the history against West Indies.
Pakistan has lesson that they need such come back and such
guts in future and it can be possible if they hunger for win and keep this
hunger on will make the undefeatable in future.
Australia:
The team which is always competitive in each format and they have true cricketing spirit, in fact
the best sporting nation and they have done the best in every field of sports.
One of the favorites of ongoing world cup but they were unable to qualify for semifinals.
The main reason was their bowling attack was not up to standards for this
format. They were totally relying on Josh Hazelwood and James Faulkner in
bowling and on their hard hitting batsmen. The bowling attack was like lion
without teeth. They played only good game against Pakistan; rest was not up to
their standards.
The Lesson for Pakistan is that if you are the best, you
have to enter with your best team into tournament, relying on a few players
will never earn you any title.
Bangladesh:
This team has transform into very competitive one after the end
of 2011 world cup and it is now producing
one of the finest cricketers in each format specially in bowling. The
new talent in Mustafizur Rahim is the best example. They did very well in group
matches and against India everything was going in their favor but right at the
point they were going to win they loss the temper and what was the result;they
loss by one run but this loss has a lesson and this lesson should be learn by
Pakistan team and Bangladesh too.
Whatever the target is, never be excited until you get it because
cricket is such game, you never know till the end of result who will win.
England:
The one of the finalists of T20 World Cup 2016 and it was
being considered out of the tournament when West Indies Trashed them in group
matches and people start believing that South Africa will send them out of
tournament when they posted 229 runs against them but after chasing down 230
against Protease and bouncing back against Afghanistan when they were 65 for 7
and winning the unbelievable match.
They have the best ODI and T20 format cricketer’s
combination and about 6 players are true match winners. This team has the best
lesson for Pakistan.
Pakistan should learn that they shouldn’t get panic against
any nation either it was top ranked team with huge target or minnows which can
rattle your top order , be sensible that time and try to achieve the targets or
recovery in bits and pieces but according to situation.
India:
The 2nd most favorites after New Zealand with the
best batting line up, the calm and cool captain and the combination of good new
pace attack and spinners with home ground advantage, this team was easily
considered a finalist but an extra ordinary game play by west Indian batsmen and
the luck played game with both teams.
The best lesson for Pakistan after loss against West Indies
is that never rely on lucks and chances. Sometimes you get chances in batting
and bowling if luck favors you but its once in blue moon not every day.
New Zealand:
The Favorites for 2016 title and chokers too(although this
title goes to South Africa but it comes fit on Black Caps). The well balanced
in the T20 format with long batting order with powerful hitters and fast pace
attack. The intelligent captain who can read the pitch conditions very well.
They could be in finals comfortably if England was not intelligent enough to
tie them in death overs otherwise they were considered finalists just before
start of the game.
Pakistan team can learn from them a basic lesson for any
cricket match is that you must read any pitch condition very well and then
decide which team you have to enter for the match. This is basic lesson
Pakistan team should learn.
SriLanka:
The defender of titles is ousted by England in group
matches. There were many reasons for their ordinary display of cricket in
recent tournament. One of the main reasons is that their team is in rebuilding
phase, after retirement from international cricket of their main batsmen, they
are trying to rebuild it for next mega tournament and their bowling attack is
weak with Malinga and they are missing one more spinner in their team for such
format.
Pakistan has lesson from this team is that they should
reconsider a new team for new mega
events which will be in 2019, so this rebuilding is must to become major
cricketing team.
South Africa:
The favorite ones for the tournament but
unable to qualify after England has destroyed their bowling attack and
confidence by chasing mammoth score of 230 runs .They were unable to return
from that shock which England has provided them. Although they have world class
batting line up which can easily transform to any format and the very best fast
bowling attack with very good leg spinner?
Pakistan team has major lesson from this team that if you
have everything in team but no confidence then don’t even imagine about the
title.
West Indies:
A team which has demolished Indian giant in semifinals just after
shocking defeat against Afghanistan in now finalist and considered to be winner
of tournament. The black tornado has ability to destroy any bowling attack in a
few overs. They were being considered a simple team and didn’t even consider qualifying
for semifinals when they have England and South Africa in group .They played
silently and made other teams sent out of title race and now they are finalists.
They have seven match winning players and they can make worse day for any opponent.
Pakistan has the best lesson in this team is that be
courageous against each opponent, play aggressive cricket and don’t be afraid
of loss.
Pakistan:
The team which from the start of tournament being confused
to be sent or not and after arrival, media totally portrayed them negatively
after loss in warm up game and then after each loss they were being badly
criticized even after defeat from India, the PCB chairman strange statements
about team has demoralized the captain and team. Then again media negative
coverage during tournament about their own team was icing on cake.
To be honest Pakistan has to learn many lessons but the most
important is avoid media completely during any event or tournament, either its
media or social media. They just concentrate on their game and do not put ear
upon any news and the main role during this will be done by coach and manager.
These 10 teams have themselves give 10 lessons to Pakistan
board and cricket team and if they follow them, they can earn any title. Last
but not least, a small lesson for PCB chairman too, avoid travelling with team,
it would give them confidence boast.
